The Versatile Blogger Award

About the Award – The Versatile Blogger Award was created to feature and recognize blogs that have unique content, high quality of writing, and fantastic photos. As the web-page about the Versatile Blogger Award says – “Honor those bloggers who bring something special to your life whether every day or only now and then.”

I am honored to have been nominated for the Versatile Blogger award by two incredible bloggers:

Richa has such a flair for writing that whatever she writes about, I find interesting.

Vesna is a tour guide who will make you want to visit Macedonia! Her accounts of places, history, geography and artisans is unrivaled!

7 Insteresting Things About Me

1. The Orinoco River

I spent two weeks in the Orinoco, living with the indigenous people.

  • I slept in a hammock. At night you hear the rats running along the ground. That’s why you have to sleep in a hammock.
  • I ate pauji and chiguire, two animals from the jungle. I just Googled and found this little video of an adopted chiguire
  • I traveled in a curiara with the indigenous people on the Orinoco.

2. Anacondas

I’ve seen an anaconda up close. It wasn’t dangerous because it was still digesting a deer. I knew it was a deer because the antlers were sticking out of it’s mouth.

3. Monkeys

I had a pet monkey once.

4. Farming

I once rented a plot of land and planted melon, corn and sweet peppers. I lost my whole investment, though.

5. Frogs

Once in a restaurant near the Venezuela-Brazil, I opened the toilet and it was full of frogs. I went running into the restaurant with my pants around my knees 😳😆

6. Scorpions

I’ve been bitten by scorpions twice (not in the Amazon, in other parts of Venezuela). The worst part is after you’re bitten, you have to find it and kill it before you treat yourself.

7. Cooking

I love to cook and I’m always inventing new recipes. If I like something at a restaurant, I try to figure out the ingredients from the toast.

  1. Hey dear, you know I’m running an award-free blog, don’t you? Now honoring sb is sth else and I am grateful for your kind words and to have you as a friend.

Now, back to my question. My god, monkeys, frogs, rats. You’ve had a pretty eventful life. I’m curious about the scorpions, though. Why on earth do you have to find them and kill them before treating yourself?

    1. I couldn’t nominate people and leave you out, so I had to include you even though I knew you wouldn’t accept it.

The scorpions, since they’re already in the house, you don’t want them to hide and bite you again, or bite someone in your family.

  2. Oh my, what a wonderful representation of the award Aixa! Thank you so much for being such a sport and for playing along! Your answers are superb! 🙂
Anacondas, frogs, monkey, scorpions – Girl, you’ve had an eventful life for sure! Here’s wishing you all the best for all your future adventures and endeavors! 🙂

  3. Wow I can see you have history with interesting creatures. Sounds like hidden material for posts 😉
Thank you for your response, interesting facts indeed.
